What are the benefits of massage?Benefits of Massage Therapy include:
|
Are there any side effects? While negative side effects are not common, it is possible to experience some tenderness in the area treated. This should be mild, and should only last a day or two. Some patients have reported feeling slightly nauseous after a treatment. This usually means that a shorter treatment is indicated in the future. If you have any concerns, your therapist will be able to explain to you what side effects you are most likely to experience, and your treatment plan can be altered if necessary.
Is Massage Therapy painful?Massage does not have to be painful to be effective. There are some techniques that can be uncomfortable, but your therapist will discuss this with you and ask that you let them know if you would like to change anything about your treatment at any point.

Relaxation Non-RMT MassageRelaxation-only massage is offered by a graduate of a Massage Therapy program who is not yet registered in BC and is priced
at a discounted rate. Please note that these practitioners are not registered with the College of Massage Therapists of BC and therefore treatments will not be covered by extended medical benefits. For some practitioners these appointments are only available for a limited time; once our graduates get their registration the intention is for them to stay with us as RMTs. |
